you evidentally havent actually driven to Creeds yet . NN is probably closer !

Look ... I'm not sayin your wastin your time and don't try . I think it would be all killer to have a local track ! But you will be asking people to fund something that will be a trial . They don't wanna sink money into something that everyone 'says' they'll go to ! They wanna sink money into something with a concrete following . A 1/8th strip is about the smallest form of track you could ask for . Build it and they will come ! And if they do ... expand from there . It's not rocket science .

there are also many more factors to adding a road course other than the concrete . You just dont sketch out where you want the turns . There are rain runnoff issues and banking . If you want a completly flat track , why not just go to an AutoX ? They do that right down the street !!

and adding fuel ??? jesus man ! You're talking opening up a HUGE can of worms there ! Be lucky if someone sets up a make shift workshop .... no one is gonna setup buisness out there . it's in the middle of nowhere !!!

Learn to walk 1st .

i agree with the road course part... i would love it to happen, but i think we need to get our foot in the door, at least get SOMETHING there, then build from that..

you have some very good points that i think need to be looked at.creeds is a hike but i still think it will draw a lot of racers off the street for the sheer fact its legal racing and the road course is goin to be hard to pull off but i think that is what deepfreeze is really shooting for with the drag as a bonus but we will see what happens as this progresses.i also think the mudbogging idea would be a huge plus given the territory.just a thought

Actually ... the more I read this entire post , the funnier it gets ! This went from just having a decent strip of concrete to get street racing in a semi controlled atmosphere to a full blown VIR competitive track with a full service garage and race gas !

Oh well .... it is 4/20 ! I guess peeps been schmokin the good stuff today !

( don't jump my shit for posting a non-positive post >> just smiling now !! )

Your right, 564 will probably never die down because it's 3 lanes and has concrete dividers, but if there is a track locally, why not go there. Spend $20 to get in and save yourself from potentially getting arrested.

Deepfreeze tends to get overzealous sometime ..... I think his driving gloves are a little too tight or something .

On a serious note .... shoot for a BASIC 1/8th mile track and you'll be more likely to pull this off . Why 1/8th ??? Creeds use to be a 1/5th mile strip . The land after the shutdown ( which was VERY short ) ended in a swamp . They used the best part of what they had and thats what they ended up with . It was dangerous to say the least . I've heard stories about people running out of the shutdown . A 1/8th would solve that problem .

And I agree 150% with putting an offroad section out there . Creeds use to host mudbogs and truck crushing ( in the early days of monster trucks ) . I hate to admit it , but I actually attended a mudbog there about 20 years ago or so . That is a no budget money maker right there ! The only construction needed is a Bobcat for about 4 hours and a few brave souls with dirty minds !!!

Only thing stopping me from going to the big dawgs right now is that:

I need an individual with a BUSINESS MAJOR to write the business proposal. my expertise do not deal with big business. we have 12K members on DragVA. 1000 of which are students. and not one of you is majoring in business?

I didnt think you were that old dude.

and DeepFreeze tends to be about his word. not Oz.

Every week, we accomplish more. with more help- this will happen.
