+1, you can't get a ticket for randomly getting on/off the highway.

My buddy SAYS he got a ticket for going through a gas station parking lot to avoid getting stuck behind people at a red light. Does that make sense? (I was told) He approached the red light behind maybe four or five cars that were stopped. The car in front was not making the right turn at the light and was therefore holding up the cars behind them that could be turning. My friend decided to turn into the gas station parking lot, exit on the other side, and skip the light. I was told the ticket was for "Evading a traffic signal or road sign". I cannot verify the truth in this.

Anyone heard of THAT happening?

I know the timing of all the lights from my house to work depending on the time of day. I know that if I get to Dam Neck on my way home and the left turn lane switches to yellow, its MUCH MUCH quicker to just jump over a couple lanes, make a right, make a U-turn, and then get through the light. The people stopped at the left turn sit for another 2 retardedly long cycles. This could also be considered evading a traffic light I assume... but I followed all legal procedures to change lanes, make a right turn, and make a U-turn. If I got pulled over for it, I'd fight.

This has always been illegal. I still do it from time to time if I don't see any cops around.
