brake replacement cost
The shop has set prices on labor for any given job. The $200 price for pads and labor is going to be about right for having them put it in and supply your pads. If it's a cool shop, you can try to sweet talk them into lowering the price, but if you've already paid for it, I don't think they'll change it. Next time, buy your own pads and do it yourself or get that guy that offered a price of $50 to do it for you. Brake pad replacement is easy. You would save a lot of money if you learn to do at least the simple maintenance on your car like brake pads, rotors, oil, coolant, plugs, and stuff like that. Good luck.
i am sorry, i don't think i mentioned this... but i meant 4 wheel not 4 pads... i believe each wheel uses 2 pads? so total 8 pads for both front and rear wheels. does that still sound too much still?
thats what i got.
i got a helluva deal off here. brand new brembo blanks, and PBR ceramic pads for 50$
of course i installed them myself.
good deals are everywhere, you just have to know what you're looking for.
Are there any disadvantages to ceramic brake pads?
And yes, brake pads are not all that difficult. I wouldn't exactly call it "easy" to someone who's probably never done anything more to his car than top off the antifreeze, but it really isn't hard at all, not compared to a lot of other repairs. Especially not if you have a repair guide to work from.
