I suppose if you were trying to put 600 hp through it, it could be weak, but for less then 400, RB20 and KA trans seem to hold up fine.
The only common engine failures i have found mentioned are the crank collars.

its cool. imo most of the rb guys in the states are fucking dumb. they just think there hot shit because they have a skyline motor. we dont really have much experence with them. not that im saying you are.

fucking ditto. i used the same trans in 4 years of drag racing an SR20 setup with 267rwhp to 460rwhp. all those 4 years it was doing 1.8's to 1.4 60fts.
the clutch material and how its disengaged is the biggest cause of trans failures.
but if money is an issue, just cryo all the stock parts.

gearing is the same. the difference you notice is the fact that you rev higher in the same gear with the sr20. you could rev 1st gear to whatever speed the bearings seize at.
