Pardon my ignorance, but is doing this legal? Just wondering. I don't really care if it is or isn't, just curious.

They don't have "no-solder" chips for xbox yet? They have em for PS2. Those things make life great.

Uhm. You can run the modchip and such legally. But its copyright violoation if you burn cd's and copy cd's and play them using the mod. It voids your Xbox warranty to put the modchip on though.

X-Ecuter 2.3B LITE[+] = non-solder.

theres an article on techtv on how to do this with out a mod chip.. buy using a mechinstaller glitch...

mines modded without a mod chip but i have a 160 gig hard drive... about 35 games and 500 roms (snes, n64, genesis, etc..)

its awesome but can cost money

need to buy hard drive for abour 100 to 150
modders usually charge 60 to 75 bucks to install drive, chip (or no chip)..

Its really easy to mod now, check out xbox-scenes as stated above. You can find out anything there, and the tutorials are great. I tried to solder mine at first and I really messed it up. No steady hand here. Luckily I got the non-solder chip to work. Sometimes my chip will slip and you have to reset it, but I think the newer ones seat better. If anyone has any specific questions feel free to ask. Ive done a few boxes and am pretty familiar with the steps to getting it working and running stuff on it. I didnt get much help when I first did mine, so I know it can be frustrating/intimidating.
