I'm going to try to put the fixtures together today, so that when I do eventually mount them, it will be easier.

I took the fixture out of the box yesterday and did not assemble it. It looks as if you are supposed to mount the light, then assemble it? It does have 4 colored wires coming out of it and instructions on the box.
