Just curious as I havent really checked around much, but I currently use the tech credit union, and from my experience tech rips you off anyway they can. So seeing that its the closest bank to the dorms I assume it's horrible as far as rates etc. Does anyone know of any other good ones that are close by? The one back home had a coinstar type machine where I could just bring in my change and they would cash it all for me, which is something I miss. Also I'd just like a higher savings rate etc, which I'm sure I can find. Just seeing what you guys might know.

Suntrust is where my mom used to work (in L'burg) and they have a couple local bands. What type of account(s) are you trying to open? Lemme know and I'll find out how good they are compared to other local ones.

BB&T is pretty good and so is Navy Federal but I think you have to be in the Navy to get in there not sure. Avoid Bank of America

I'm looking for something I dont have to pay for parking, maybe be able to cash in change without rolling it, that provides better savings rates than tech credit union. My credit union rate is something absolutely rediculous if I'm not mistaken. I remember being shocked when I looked at it one day and mike my old roommate just laughed at how low it was. He used online banking and had soemthing like 4x the interest rate I did.

go to the Wachovia over on univ. blvd and ask for Richie - tell him sean wagner sent you in & he'll hook u up w/ a free account & it will include online banking.
Nothing really too special - they offer it to anyone - he'll just take better care of u if u name drop me. They love me over there.
