Well apparently the threat of a lawsuit got through to them. They pulled the ad.

And, someone just bought the car through Ebay for my Buy-It-Now price. So, it looks like this day's turning out okay after all....

It ain't bought until someone hands you money. Don't accept payment through paypal! Take it as a lesson learned through other peoples misfortunes on Drag. Everyone is a scammer

He sent me a $1000 deposit through PayPal, and his bank has already been in contact with my bank. So far so good....

Good!

Glad you're getting rid of that piece of shit. Just kidding.

Maybe I should put mine on ebay. Seems like it worked out well for you!

It did, aside from the other bullshit (like the AutoTrader thing).

I sold my Corvette on there about 3 years ago, and ended up getting $2000 more than I was asking for it.

I just wonder how easy it would be to sell a GTI on there.. you know? How many people are really in the market for a GTI on something like ebay? How much does it cost to actually sell a vehicle on ebay?

I think it costs like $40 to list, and I paid a $40 final value fee. Probably $90-100 once you figure in reserve price fees and such. But, I just factored that into my reserve.

There aren't a lot of GTI's on there:

Doesn't look like they really sell for shit on there either..

I should be able to get at least $15k, at least. If not, I won't bother getting rid of it.

glad to hear everything worked out man.

btw - upgrading your ground wires has a huge impact on your electrical system. i'm not going to say it helps your car run faster, but it does help with dimming and other electrical problems
