rebuilding a turbo

lol i already have a custom turbo kit with everything just the actual turbo is causing me trouble. it's a d16z6 engine SOHC using a HF mani. i would go t3/t4 but i think it would be kinda big for a 1.6L. to do it right, i would need to buy a brand new turbo for 500 to 600. hey cosmo, i PM you about your friend but you haven't PM me back yet

I have a t-25 from my 97 gsx im trying to sell. it needs new seals ill let it go for 50 bucks ...
Like I said why not just buy a TD05-16g? They can be picked up for about 450 bucks brand new and it would outflow that T-25 by a solid 50%. The most you can really blow out of a T25 is around 25lb/min. I was pushing my TD05-16g to 34-35lb/min when I finally removed it which is about its flow limits, and boost was felt starting around 2500, with full boost hitting around 3-3100 in my 2.0L 8.5:1 CR. On a 1.6L Id imagine that turbo should still spool relatively low, probably around mid 3's depending on the compression and it would be more than capable of everything youd ever throw at it on that motor. If you still insist on using a used turbo, then at least get a 14b that is in very good condition. A 14b will flow around 29-30lb/min at most, so a solid 5lb/min or 20% roughly over the T-25, all while costing the same amount.
