Default New local dyno opening May 1

Well, looks like we are going to finally have a local dyno. A good friend of mine has been talking about putting in a dyno for a while, and yesterday I ran into him and he told me it's a reality.

It's a Dynojet. 2WD for now, but he's building the pit so it will have room for the extra rollers to make it AWD. After talking to him for about an hour yesterday, I got the impression if it wasn't too much more he was going to make it AWD. The dyno itself is already there. I'm going by this week and I'll see if I can snap some pictures while I'm there.

His web site is:

If you go up there on the weekend, I'd like to roll with you if you don't mind and check it out..

Looks like it's a little pricey but not too terribly far fetched. $75 for 2 runs..

I'd love to check it out though!

Are they gonna have a tuner there, if so what has he tuned. Does any one around here have the knowledge to tune hondata. It would be nice to not have to drive hours away to tune a car. thanks

You obviously haven't checked dyno rates anywhere else. Hourly rates are about 2/3 of the going rate. And that rate is with the use of a wideband O2 sensor.

I don't think they intend to offer any tuning services right now, but I may be wrong. I believe the dyno is there for the customer to use and do their own tuning.

It's in the Glenvar area. Take Main Street through Salem, past Wal-Mart. Once the road narrows from 4 lanes to 2, it's just past that point on the left. It's in the back of the Air Cable building. It actually becomes Roanoke again just before you get there.

The $75 for two runs is what I was referring to. I'd be perfectly happy with the price if you could do 3 runs for $75. Not that big of a deal, but the dyno I booked for the February Fling I hosted in Charlotte gave 3 runs for $50.

Oh well.. Who cares! It's a local dyno. That's the important thing here. It's better than spending $25 in gas to get to and from a dyno several hours away

Plus, he will be giving club discounts. So if we get everyone together (finally) we can go up there for pretty cheap...
