NB is better than New London...and thats saying a lot. Its a small air strip that is used as a drag strip on weekends. Its up hill, seems shorter than 1/8mi to me, and the only reason to go is to see outlaw cars get out of shape and into the grass followed shortly by them wrecking or ending up facing the start line.

Id go to NB before Id spend money on gas and pay to get in at NL.

Off topic but has anyone died from the track food at Shelor yet? Ive been to enough tracks to know that track food isnt really high class but good God shelors food was NAAAAAAASTY. Lets put it this way...I like to eat and Mrs myclone witnessed for the first time me throw food away when I pitched two hot dogs and some fries in the trash cause it was so lousy tasting. My point other than bitching? If you go to Shelor eat before hand or bring your own grub.

it started out as a 1/4 mile track back in the 50's, so there is no reason to say that it's shorter than an 1/8th mile now..

Yeah there is... It seems like it to me but maybe its due to it being up hill. Have I measured it? No. Have I traveled prolly two dozen different 1/8mi tracks throughout the east cost enough to get an idea of the distance a full length 1/8mi track is? Yes. So, with that being said it seems like its short to me but like I said I havent measured it.

Besides its been 7 or 8yrs since I was there so maybe they moved the finish line since then  .
