Default My Celica Swap

Well it seems as if this board is dominated mostly by Honda's and your occasional DSM or WRX guy...i'm the oddball of the bunch in SW Va.

Back during the summer i decided that i wanted to put a Mid-Engine and transmission out of a Toyota MR-2 3sgte into a front wheel drive 1990 ST Celica...Well its finally running and almost ready to drive. Boostdclipse99 told me that yall were fairly interested in swaps and like to see what other people are doing and what not so i figured i'd post the link to my almost step by step build on Celicatech. The outside the car appears to be 100% BONE STOCK...just the way I intended it to be .

The thread is VERY picture oriented, so dialup beware, don't even try it!

Saw first hand in this build, not like an easy Honda swap....can't wait to take a ride. Definately a sleeper

Very nice swap, hopefully all that work pays off and you can catch traction

bookmarked your thread so i can go back and check progress.
looks great so far.BTW:Full-Race makes 90 degree aluminum elbows to weld to the outlet of the turbo.looks like that would allow your charge pipe to go straight over to the downward piece, wih a shorter route, and without the extra coupler.

Don't have the extra money to get the 25 and 30 dollar couplers . It works fine for now...i'll change things as money allows me to do so. Piddly stuff like using the T-bolt coupler flanges and the better 90 degree elbows made out of silicone.

Thanks!

Very nice! I gave up on Toyotas (MKIII Supras), they are a lot of work. Your build up makes me want another one though.
