Default looking for a gunshop

Looking to buy a handgun. What places in Roanoke are good on prices and what places to stay away from.

Best place I found in VA is Greentop. www.greentophuntfish.com good prices and service. Another great one is Virginia Arms though prices were too high for my tastes but they have GREAT service and know their stuff also. Both are in Northern VA.

Another thing to try is ordering a gun offline off say Gunbroker.com or Gunsamerica.com and having a FFL transfer done. Can save some money that way. I believe PSS charges 25$ for a FFL transfer in Roanoke and they have a 25 yard indoor range.

Just depends on what you want.

I think that might have been Bryansteens that you visited. Their prices seem to be better than the other gunshops I have visited around here. The only other place I can really recommend, based on the guys honest opinion and help (nice guy) is the gun shop near Home Depot and Lee Hartman & Sons (across the street from) that is sort of built into that pawn shop (I know, sounds shitty), but they have a wide variety of guns new and used, sig, hk, taurus, glock, beretta, s&w, ruger, etc etc etc.. more than most places.

In the end, due to price(and noone in Roanoke carries FN), I purchased mine on gunbroker.com

Another thing you might really consider is seeing if any gunshows are comin up soon, if you don't fear for your life then it might be worth the wait, lol.. some decent prices (also some fuckin ripoffs on SKS's and AK's now that they are "popular" with the bubba type ha)

What are you looking for? full size, compact, subcompact? carrying gun? price range?

If I were to buy another gun, this would be the list I would choose from (after endless hours of research and handling):

-CZ P01
-S&W M&P
-Taurus 24-7
-FN FNP-9 (what I ended up with)

there is a gun show next weekend at the Civic Center.great place to look, even if you don't buy-you'll never find such a wide range of guns in one place to compare.generally, the prices are better than a shop too.

Yes, I still live near you. Finally finished the big ass fence and can concentrate on other things needed.
The gun show is this weekend. I will be going for one day, not sure which one.
