So,today I drove four hours,covering just over 100 miles to make the trip from Roanoke to VIR for a trackday(just to be told at the gate that the event's cancelled).I have several gripes from the trip,listed below,in order of importance....


-It's fucking pouring snow,turn on your headlights,retards!From just out of Clearbrook all the way to Danville it was damn near whiteout conditions,which makes it pretty hard to see other cars.I'm pulling a loaded down trailer that's eight feet wide,so I can't stop and maneuver as quickly as other vehicles in certain situations like,oh say:
'When you pull out in front of me.I can barely see you since you don't have any lights on,but I'm sure you can see me since I'm actually running my headlights and foglights.
'When some dumb bitch in a Saturn comes by me(I'm creeping along with traffic going about 40MPH)going at least 65MPH,talking on the cellphone and smoking a cigarette.How do I know she was doing all that?Well,I got to see her again when she started sliding,about ate shit,and then practically stopped in the middle of the road.Don't worry about getting off the phone or throwing out that smoke and actually concentrating on driving now that you've almost wrecked-I mean,you didn't die,so it's all good!
'When a tractor trailer passes me on 29.Normally not a big deal,except that today 29 had a couple inches of snow,one clear lane,heavy snow falling and traffic averaging 20-25MPH.Just blast on by going twice as fast as everybody else.My fender you almost clipped as you pinched me off when you realized maybe you were going a little too fast?Don't even worry about it!I hope you overdose on that bee's wax shit truckers take to stay awake(or cocaine/meth,whatever the hell ya'll take).

-Fuck Pittsylvania County!As soon as I crossed the line from Franklin County on Route 40,there was instantly no snowplow action or chemical/salt spreading.Stayed that way the whole way to Danville.I know this county is economically depressed(more so than the country on average),but fuck,hopefully Obama's stimulus will pump in some money for VDOT down here.Fuck.

My main concern is retards who can't cut their fucking headlights on when it's snowing.It's hard to see other cars when it's raining or snowing-have you not noticed that and maybe said "hey,I'll cut on my headlights so people can actually see me!"?They really should make it a law...Hold on-it IS a law!You're supposed to turn on your headlights when it's raining(ever see the "Wipers on,headlights on" signs?!).I think snow counts as precipitation,so I think you could interpret the law as including snow too.

Are people too spoiled by new cars with auto headlights?My truck has them,but I wasn't sure if it was dark enough to activate them,so I actually turned on the headlight switch.What a novel idea!

I'd say people are just too fucking dumb to know any better.It goes right along with how drivers in this area of Virginia are shitty in general.I've been all over the Eastern half of this country,and I've yet to be anywhere that people drive this badly. Don't get me started on the left lane cruisers.

I think what most of the people think is "I can see just as good without my headlights on"... I don't think they realize it is so that people can see them... same thing goes for rain, half the morons in black/dark gray cars yesterday were riding around with no lights on and barely visible.

US-29. 65MPH speed limit,two lanes normally....I'm going 40MPH(because i'm trying to make it up the hill.my average was 20-25MPH)in 4WD,with one set of tire racks to follow,which at one point dropped off the shoulder before I realized it,resulting in me dropping the right side trailer tires off into it.Had to slowly pull off the shoulder,then re-enter.
*and yes,i realize i'm no better than the cig smoking,cell talking bitch for taking a pic while driving in this shit....*


Pic i just took(9:30AM).The sun has actually melted a lot of it already.Wish I woulda taken a pic this morning around 6AM-it was unreal....Didn't get much sleep,as the power went out here at the hotel about 10:30 last night,then came back on around 4AM.

Finally made it home!
Haha,I ended up putting the trailer in the ditch about 100' from my parent's house(I decided to leave it there to save the extra 55 miles of towing it to my house).Their road hadn't been plowed yet(the drifts on their road were about 2' deep!),and I turned just a little too early,catching the trailer tires in the ditch.It was over after that,as it then pulled the truck down with it.The bad part is that there's a bulldozer and two tractors at their house,but my dad has the keys to everything with him at work.I was able to unhook the trailer and finally got the truck out,then I spent the next hour shoveling out around the trailer,hooked back up to it at a 90 degree angle to pull it back across the road and finally wiggled it out.
