What? so let me get this straight....it makes your car louder and provides absolutely no peformance gain at all. Hence, stunna mod. It doesnt matter what i drive, if you cant figure it out from the one letter in my SN that is caps. And what do you mean hack it and put it back in?! whats that going to do? YOU have no idea what you're talking about. i cant believe you can afford a 20K plus car, but cant put up the 150ish damn dollars for a real intake.

you actually get cooler air from the front air dam and snorkel. i did utec pulls with both and the air intake temps were colder than my short ram. about 10 degress C cooler....

What does having a subaru have to do with it? seriously? And i didnt say you were wrong. Go back and read my original post, i in no way directed an insult at you, i simply stated the correct terminology. Then you called me a jackass.

bensrex, no need to get all bent out of shape because someone corrects you. Relax.

nothing needed to be corrected, is my point. if you drive a suby, then you know what i mean by "intake silencer". i dont need some civic ricer correcting me on terminology. also, you dont just slap on an intake in a subaru wrx. but you wouldn't know that. i'm not going to sit here and explain it to you, but you can read about it here, look at the second post by MisterX. http://www.wrxfanatics.com/index.php...579&hl=intake&

and yes, i heard that the snorkel cools the air down a lot. but i still chose to take it out, and when i get money, i'll consider getting the NX express kit for the I/C.

Well..now im a jackass, and a CIVIC RICER! thats awesome. thanks. Made my night, it really did. And drivign a "suby" has nothign to do with anything, EVERY automotive guy out there knows its a resonator. And yes, you do just slap on an intake. I could do it for you in about 10 minutes. And here is how a resonator works. Silencer is much different. OH yeah, and you have no idea who i am, what car i drive, how much i know, or anything about me. So please stop the names.

A chamber called a resonator is connected to the first chamber by a hole. The resonator contains a specific volume of air and has a specific length that is calculated to produce a wave that cancels out a certain frequency of sound. How does this happen? When a wave hits the hole, part of it continues into the chamber and part of it is reflected. The wave travels through the chamber, hits the back wall of the muffler and bounces back out of the hole. The length of this chamber is calculated so that this wave leaves the resonator chamber just after the next wave reflects off the outside of the chamber. Ideally, the high-pressure part of the wave that came from the chamber will line up with the low-pressure part of the wave that was reflected off the outside of the chamber wall, and the two waves will cancel each other out.

I didn't even read what you posted Rguy. I know what I need to know, and I know you're an ass for having to correct me on something that didn't need to be corrected. Drop it. I didn't mean "you don't just slap it on". I know how to put an intake on. Fact is, an intake on a WRX is pointless. Go read up, or get a real car (anything besides a civic/neon). Sorry for the cool civic owners out there.

correction bensrex...

an intake on a relativly stock wrx is pointless...but 300+ hp and a aftermarket intake is pretty much the best way to get lots of air and fast.

but you knew that...
