Getting Ink
Lately i've been REAL interested in getting some ink done, but I'm not too familliar with the area and anyone that's gotten ink done down here -- where are some good tattoo parlors around the Radford/Christiansburg area??
Now that I think about it, I really dont mind making a haul all the way out to Roanoke either ... might as well drive a little bit for quality work

You'll probably get a few replies, but there is a GREAT guy in Radford, right on main street. He talks a lot, but it keeps your mind off of any pain. I can dig up a photo of my tat if you want, but he is the cleanest tattoo artist you will ever come across. He told me that he is on the Virginia Tattoo Board (don't know official title) - so he helps with making tattoo laws in Virginia. Changes the needle constantly, atleast once for each color if not more. Prices seem pretty good, but again.. I'll try to dig up a pic of my tat - I like it a lot.
It's called Skin & Ink - and it's a shop on Main Street, Radford. The guy's name is Bill, and it's only him and his wife that run the shop. They do piercings and everything, so I just suggest checking them out atleast.
By the way, my tat wasn't the easiest. It fades from red.. to white.. to black. So he used quite a few colors w/ it.
Yes, I know my back is messed up - anyone that wants to make fun of it can, and if you want to make fun of the tattoo you can say it to my face - I'm at Radford.

Not the best detailed picture.. but I haven't heard any negative comments about it except the place where I decided to get it. I'm still happy about the tattoo and where I got it - and thats all that matters.
Also, he keeps a big book of the tattoos he does, very detailed photos for the most part. You can just walk in and check them out before getting a tattoo from him. Like I said, he loves to talk about anything that has to do with tattoos - so if you ask him about anything, he'll explain that he makes laws, uses all hospital sterlized needles, etc.

My tattoo artist moved up to the valley, not sure which parlor he is at but ask around for joe butt. He is a great artist and reasonably priced. If you find out where he is inking let me know, i'm interested in getting him to do some more work for me.
my friend Tim from Acme Tattoo in C'ville. he's a close personal friend. been in the tattoo mags before. he's also an extremely clean person. he and his friend (who is also well known in the industry) used to run out of Red Dragon Tattoo in C'ville. i can't think of the other guys complete name, but his first name is Josh. I think he's working out of Richmond though. both have their own shops. they both are artists outside the tattooing, so they can do just about anything you ask.
here's the first shop>http://tattooacme.com/
see if i can't track down Josh's shop for you.
friends arm, Tim's work. i can't find pics of mine that Tim did.

i got mine done at ancient art in blacksburg 3-4 years ago. they did a great job and i still get compliments on the work. the shop was extremely clean and they made it a point to work with me to know exactly what i wanted. i think they're by appointment only now.
