Finding Porting Bits Locally
Hey all,
I am switching turbine housings on my 14b(Thanks to marshal
) and it needs to be opened up to 7cm.
Anyone know where to pick up some carbide burrs for porting?
I know I can pick some cheapies up off of ebay but I don't feel like waiting Thats still an option though.
I have a little mini-diegrinder that spins at 25,000 rpm that does well I just need the bit, I believe its 1/4" too.
Thanks

I have checked out Harbor Freight and I am looking at Grainger now but I wanted to avoid having to order this bit. Anyone have one they would be willing to let me borrow for a day or two
?

I called Harbor Freight and they only had 1/8" carbide burs, grainger was closed

When I used to work for northwest hardware, we used to have them. Not sure if they do now though. It's worth a try. Although you would have to wait until tomorrow before youc an get it.. they are open 8-6
Yeah I called them, Northwest, they took my name down and told me they would call me when they got ahold of a saleman
. I wonder if sears carries em...hmmm.

Oh dude.. that j bend.. I don't have a 2.5" to measure but the 3" had a 5 1/2" radius. That was measured from the center of the pipe. 2.5" will be smaller i'll just have to wait until we get some more in so I can check it out. Also it is not just a j bend, it's a j bend with an additional 45 degree bend so you can just cut off what you need. I'll let you know on the other as soon as it comes in.

Sounds good, I'll be paying off tires and some other bills this month. First week of April I will prolly be ready to tackle the piping. Just let me know.
