Escalade
I came across something that struck my eye in the store yesterday... It was actually a radio controlled Escalade, complete with large spinners, working headlights (and I believe turn signals), it plans music, has an amp rack and what looked to be a model fiberglass audio enclosure in the back. Kind of lame, I know, but at the same time I thought it was somewhat fascinating due to the fact that the damn thing is probably a good 1.5 FEET long and about a foot tall, at the least.. It's HUGE, and the wheels really spin when it stops.
The down side to that is that it's a hundred bucks. I got a dvd with a cd I ordered off the 'net a few days ago, and it features a ton of nitro rc cars... One of them even has spinners and air suspension. I know these things can get really tricked out, and it can cost you a lot of money in the process. I've seen them do as much as 70-80mph. That's wicked! I'm not looking for something like that necessarily, and I think the big Escalade would be cool to play with for a few days and do a few mods to it and then sell it for a little profit if I could. What I was wondering is whether or not I could get a body shop to do a sick paintjob on it with some sort of flakes and sparkles in the paint... How much do you guys think that would cost for something of this size? Think I could talk to them and see if they could hook me up with some leftover paint from a previous custom car/truck rather than having to buy way too much paint for the job and paying for the labor too? Don't mind paying for the labor, but how much do you guys think that would cost anyway? Would your average body shop even do something like this or would they laugh at me for asking?
I know this is stupid... but I want to play with it a few days myself anyway, and then I figured if I tricked it out a little bit I could probably sell the damn thing for a profit anyway. What's the harm?

$100 for a RC car? I wish I could buy them that cheap. The one I raced I paid $750 for. The truck I have now was $500.
Oh, and if you want someone to paint it, I suggest you visit www.cosmo-graphics.com

Yeah, but those are probably nitro cars aren't they? Or at least fast, even if they're not... This is just one of those junky forward, reverse, left, and right controlled rc "cars" - cheap, and probably junk altogether, but neat none the less.
So what kind of paint do you/can you do? Are we talking trick paintjobs, or like solid opaque colors? I see that it says you paint helmets and karts and everything now, so the helmets alone leads me to believe that you're very capable of doing something sick.
Edit-> Should have checked more thoroughly.. Now I see there is a gallery. Yep... I think I'll definitely have to talk to you about painting this sucker for me. Would this still qualify for "rc body" pricing although it's ENORMOUS?

Well hell yeah! Are those flames and things on the helmets vinyl graphics or actual paint/airbrush? I'd definitely like to send this thing your way if and when I buy it. If this guy comes through for me and buys my Wolfsburg Jetta today, I'll go pick it up... Otherwise, it might be a while before I buy it. Looking for a new job.
I'd say this thing is probably 2 feet long now that I think about it. I don't know what the scale was, but it was huge. After I thought about it, a foot is only 12 inches and this thing was much much much bigger than that. The wheels are about the size of the opening of a super big gulp from 711...
I use to have an OFNA 4wd 1/8 scale nitro buggy.. the whole setup was around $500 but it was quite the beast.. raced it on a few tracks, broke a few things, then finally sold it for money for my car
I didn't know you made graphics Cosmo. Maybe you can make mine for my backglass of my truck. I need a quote on it. It needs to fit pretty nicely on the glass and have the circle with the line through it in red, the Chevy symbol in gold, and Xtreme in whatever color you think would fit best. And the lettering around it preferably in just white.
