A couple of you guys just need to stop driving. I'm perfect by no means, some of you..DAMN!

Anyway....

1) 78/55 Went to court house, paid like $100 got it knocked down to a lesser charge, paid remaining fine on lesser charge (sounds crooked, but I'm not bitching, plus it was in bumfuck NC).

2) Other one was like 1-9 over. Friggen VA trooper. Patch of cars 1/4 mile in front of me, patch 1/4 behind me, fucker singled me out for doing the average speed that EVERYONE does. I so wanted to punch that cocky fuck.

100% clean record (so far), although its really only a matter of time. I have been real lucky to go over 4 years with no tickets. A cop stoped me once for speeding, but didnt give me a ticket. If he did I would have fought it and probably won (he didnt radar me, it was visual).

is it true that cops have quota's to meet every month...thats why poeple get their tickets the most at the end of the month. that also explains why court dates are usually at the Begining of the month.

just speculation of course..but it makes sense since if a police officer isnt giving any tickets..then he/she isnt doing his/her job.

someone please enlighten me...

What I have heard, which may or may not be correct, is that they have sort of unofficial quotos. There is nothing that says they have to give x amount of tickets a month, but yeah, if there boss see's that they arnt giving out any tickets, then they would probably get in trouble.

I know we do not have quota's, heck we have a few officers that never even have cases on their court dates, because they dont do hardly any officer initiated activities, and only do what they are called to do. I usually average about 5-15 cases a month, depends on seasons, football season you seem to have more, but most of them are not traffic. My court dates are at the middle or end of most months because that is when i was working day shifts when they were scheduled, now im on a different schedule and my court dates are on my days off Most of my traffic ones are for people going over 50 in a 25, over 30/35 in the 15 around the drillfield depending on foot traffic, or expired registration/inspection and seatbelts. I will have to count warnings one month, might see if i can get a printout of all my traffic stops and percentages of summons' issued, its probably not even 20%.

Just curious, you're a police officer?
