My dog got hit in vinton by a light grey van.....the van didnt stop just kept driving...he hit a 1 year old lab/collie mix going around 35mph in a PARKING LOT throwing her 20 feet from the impact zone.....

She at the vets now doing x-rays so far all we know is shes broke or fractured both her back legs....her left paw is going to get 12 stiches and the cut above her eye will have a few to..



And yes she was on a leash.....

How sick can you be to hit a puppy and drive off with the OWNER right there.......

 

Awww I hope your dog is alright man.....would help if you knew what van.......I would literally kill some one if the hit my dog

 

Shes ok...told us to watch her for the next few days..gave us doggy pain killers....vinton pd did find the van....it didnt make it very far...apprently they hit her with enough force to bust the raditor....

Hit and run is a felony in the state of va...even if it's an animal

Well i hope shes alright i saw a pitbull get hit by a car.......it acted hurt for a minute then came running home....and you could its back leg bone i felt bad for the dog

I don't know about animal hit and run laws, but I know it's only felony hit and run when two vehicles are involved if the damage is $1000 or more. Despite my car being as damaged as it is, they didn't do shit to the other driver even though they know everything about him.

she's doing allright just really sore...she didnt break her legs like the vet was scared..she did fracture 2 ribs....and got a few stitches..but she's allright...she's back at home currently trying to snatch my mc chicken sandwhich....thats a good sign

Yea..shes being lazy...we moved her bed into the kitchen beside her water/food bowl because she dosnt want to move....shit if i was slammed by a mini van and thrown 20 feet i wouldnt want to eaither..

 

I rarely post here but I was so infuriated by that SOB driver's lack of compasion I had to post. Basically I'm just asking for an update when the jerk gets his day in court. I hope he pays dearly.

BTW, which parking lot? I used to live in Vinton.

 

The one by berkleys bottom....the park...she's doing OK and we settled.....he's paying all the vet bills.... plus a little extra....
