ok me and ru neon(jeremy) saw an older S12 style 200sx at wendy's tonite. this particular car was in very good condition and we've never seen one before. wut got our attention was the "turbo" letterings on the spoiler and the scoop on the hood with "turbo" badging again. all looked oem.


this is how the front looked like. the one we saw was a black hatchback w/ the same scoop and wheels.

we were both curious and did some research on 200sx.org and it sounds/looks like this is a pretty rare vehicle. i couldnt even find a picture that replicated the one we saw. either it had the scoop but it was coupe, or the other way around. i am curious if this particular one we saw is not a "usdm" model. even on the site it states that s12 style 200sx's information is mot readily available.

ive seen one at the walmart on 17 round here...so i guess they could be usdm, i doubt there would be that many people importing em in from japan...they do look pretty badass tho

 

Steve and I researched it a little on 200sx.org and i guess the USDM models were non turbo and had no bulge on hood.....but the one at wendys did. plus the one we saw was LHD and the owner didnt look like an import enthusiast (redneckish). Maybe it is from canada originally?? All I know is I wanna find that dude and buy his car hehe

It's actually a pretty common car, go over to Howell's junkyard, there's one (maybe two) over there. I promise there is nothing special or rare about the one you saw...sorry...

i seem to remember the s12s in the us came with a ca20de (or ca20e) and a ca18et. sohc turbo. the later ones came with the option of the vg30e 3.0 lt v6 out of the maxima and 300zx. the 200sx came from the 2.0 ca, i just cant remember iff it was dohc (de from 2 cams and electronic fuel injection) or sohc (just the "e" for fuel injection) either way the turbo model isnt that great. nothing overly cool about it, but i love that body style.
