Anyone know anybody that is hiring?
I have an idea, but I don't want to get your hopes up. My friend works at a shop on 604 next to where Teaberry's was or may still be... I'll ask her if they're looking for someone with experience. If it helps, do you want me to tell her you have sex with men for money?
I asked, Chad, and she said not only are they not hiring at her place of employment, but that you wouldn't want to work there anyway. She wants me to let her know if you find a job so maybe she can go there too. LOL!
I know three programming languages, have 10+ years in freelance web design and graphic design, am a certified help desk professional, have experience in the IT industry on several levels, have worked quite a few customer service jobs, done collections, sales, and have quite a bit of insurance background on both the tech support side of it and as a corporate liability coordinator for a large national corporation. Am I able to use any of that experience right now? None. lol.. FML.
Well, right now I think I'm just going to take some entry level job somewhere just to pay the bills. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I think I'm going to start my own graphic design company as well. I have dealt with and done work for literally hundreds of businesses around this area, so hopefully I still have some good contacts. Plus, I already have a portfolio of probably a thousand jobs from the past years...

People who are willing to pay for graphic design are often bombarded with fresh graduates or new designers trying to build their portfolio and get experience, and who are willing to take the absolute bottom dollar if they even get paid to begin with. Many of the times they'll even do the job for free just to make sure they get it instead of someone else. I started dissecting and teaching myself HTML when I was 11 years old and picked up both Illustrator, and Photoshop. I taught myself Rhino3d and Bryce among other rendering apps, and taught myself virtually everything. I started doing freelance web design and graphic design and made pretty good income doing it starting back in 1996 or 1997ish and continued up until 2-3 years ago. Everyone wants something for nothing, and unfortunately there's no shortage of recent graduates or kids dabbling with the programs these days who know what they're doing enough (at least) to pick up the projects. Personally, despite your experience, I would look for something else.
