Anyone know of any automotive auctions nearby?
Does anyone know of an automotive auctions around southwestern Virginia or northwestern North Carolina? I really need a car (looking for a 4th generation Maxima to be precise) but am strapped for cash. Can someone help me out? Non-dealer auctions prefered.
There is one in Montvale, but it's sort of small. Open to the public.
There is a HUGE one in Greensboro every Wednesday, but you have to be a dealer. If you don't know one, I have a friend who will let you go with him. He charges $500 plus you have to pay the $110 auction fee, but since you'll probably be saving a few thousand at least, it still works out in your favor.

Weavil,
The one in Montvale is every saturday at 10 am. The website for the auction is www.bryanbuchananauction.com. Sometimes they have them on thursday nights too. But in my experience, i think the guys are shady. A lot of cars "sell" for weeks at a time, and if you go often enough, you see some of the same cars coming through again.
Not to say you can't find any deals there, but it's pretty obvious to me that they have their own people running up bids.
Just my 2 cents.
