doh... you should've posted that up about 12 hrs earlier. nick and i just drove up to philly today, via nj. would've given you a ride if you didn't mind staying in the backseat of a 240 for the 9+ hrs we were in the car

Krump. If you're going to NY do not follow those directions. Esp if they say go past DC cause that'll take FOREVER.

Did you use mapquest? If you did I dunno why it gave you those directions.

Take I-81 North until you hit Harrisburg. Thats about 300 miles of straight driving. Then it pretty much turns into I-78 East which will run all the way across PA, NJ and bring you straight to the Jersey Turnpike and Holland Tunnel, and from there you can get pretty much anywhere around NYC or Long Island. Traffic will be much less then trying to drive by DC and taking 95.

yea, definitely... do NOT go through DC/MD. you will hit mad traffic on 495 and 95. although, since you ARE leaving at 5am, you'll get to that area at around 10am, which shouldn't be too bad. we got stuck on 495 and 95 for a good 3 hrs, going 3 mph the whole time

Yeah, I think the consensus is that DC traffic sucks balls.
