I have the same problem except the water comes in from the drain in the floor. Luckily the water goes back out the way it comes in when the rain subsides. Solved that problem the other day with a drain plug designed for those types of drains.

Probleming being this is going to be a one time problem after the new door is fitted/water sealed......they just had a damn sheet of plywood there and never replace it with anything......and why buy a pump when i am only going to need it once ?

I have a little 70gph water pump for an aquarium.

If I were you then I would just put some fish down there and call it a day.

I would get whoever "they" is to take care of it. "They" should be held responsible for it.

Let me know if you want to come by and get it. I think it's a 12 gallon. Maybe a little smaller. But, should be plenty big enough for what you're doing...
