Default WTB: MkI or cheap MkII Mr2

Name:Andrew
Location: Newport News/Hampton Roads
Contact: You can PM me here or you can email me akrisd@gmail.com
Price: $2000 or less

I'm looking at getting a car for myself soon and would really like an mr2. I've been looking for a bit and havent found anything in my price range.

As the title suggests I'm really interested in the 85-89 MR2s, preferably 5speed, and something that could make a decent daily driver. I know at this price point things wont be perfect, but at least easily(read: cheaply) fixed problems would be ok.

Thanks.

Yeah I've been looking at mr2oc also. The beautiful blue one was sold before I could get my funds together and the other one is a little questionable.

Shoot a PM to The Wok. He's selling an '87 project for $500.

Shot him a PM, we'll see what comes of it. I'm still looking though, I'm also interested in a miata if anyone has one.

Good luck on your search, man. Be prepared to get disappointed a few times... it took me over a year to find my MR2, and this was after finding a few that I thought were PERFECT. Sometimes I'd find one near me that had only gone up for sale a few hours before I found it, I'd call the owner and it would already be sold to someone who had come by to check it out 30 minutes beforehand! I came so close to just giving up on my quest and buying a civic, but then I got extremely lucky and found the '91 I drive today

As mentioned, MR2OC is a good place to look (found mine there), but I'd also search these:
www.craigslist.org
http://mr2trader.com/
www.autotrader.com
www.ebaymotors.com <- Surprisingly has some gems here and there, just make sure you check the car out in person before going through with the sale.

A miata would be just as fun, too.
