wow i thought i was hot stuff goin out there with my new gc coil overs and koni shocks...but i was all over the place...i spun out twice and dragged 2 cones the whole course on my last run. man i was REALLY disappointed!! i was so used to a neutral car, but my 350f/450r spring rates really created some oversteer that i wasn't used to! testing new suspesion out on a cold day isn't too fun either! it was like driving a whole new car haha.

No shit.. I added an Autopower roll bar and did some modifications on the rear end and it changed the car entirely. Testing in the cold is definatly not any fun. I'm going to install my camber plates this week sometime so that will hose things up even more. I'll be doing some major testing at the BCC event I hope.

Think I might get some new seats too. With the roll bar in there, I can't recline the seats anyway, so now I don't have to worry about that.

So your the man...I've heard about you....and your Dad. What do you drive...all scott could remember was he thinks its red, big help. Were you out there Sunday?
Yea I have another toy, 85 Fiero. Should be a good car for auto-x. I had alot of fun Sunday aside from it being COLD! If I could only find my way through the sea of cones.
What do you have done to your car? What tires you running? When is the next auto-x you are going to?

IcantDo55. Well I no longer have my red car I now drive a teal 91 Civic Si, its also my avatar. I couldnt make it out but I run like twice a month. I'll be out there next month. As far as tires I am running the falken Azenis, and my car has just about everything done that you can do for the STS class.

c1i9v8i9c. What struts are you running now. Also what swaybars are on your car? Also was it a off power oversteer? What I have found is that you have to drop all speed early and use throttle to get around the corner. Pungo and Fentress are not the place to practice this but, back in November Andy Turnbul road with me in my dads CRX, and he told me when it gets loose put the gas to the floor. And after doing so I dropped like 2 seconds on a big fast course at ACU4. If i dont see you down here, I plan on being up in Richmond in March

Michael

If c1i9v8i9c is who I think he is (curly, blond hair, red civic, 2nd heat)... I told him the exact same thing I told you. It didn't work quite as well...

Keep working on it... it'll take some time to get used to.

Andy Turnbull - who spun badly his first run because of a new swaybar and an inopportune lift...

Michael,
i'm running koni yellows and stock sway bars...i'm pretty sure that my spin outs were caused by off power oversteer because i went into the turns very hard and on the brakes (like i always do)...i used to be able to brake until i was way into the turn and then get on the gas late...but like you said, i guess i'm going to have to get on brakes sooner and then onto the gas early in the turn...like you i can't wait until it gets warmer!!!

Andy,
Yea i'm the one who talked to you...you're right it's just going to take time...i just need to get the feel for my "new" car haha.

On Sunday, it was running like pure hell. I screwed up the alignment on Saturday so I had LOTS of toe-in. Horrible slow speed push followed by high speed oversteer. And then the passenger camber bolt slipped on the way home. In the snow, with Falkens, at night, and I have dynamic toe. Fun.

I'm on Falkens... I don't think the Kumhos are nearly as good in the cold. Come summer and I might switch but until I have to start wetting the tires, I think the Falkens are superior.

stang. if you thought that was big wait till this spring/summer when we start racing at ACU-4 again. good track and its huge. much easier on your tires compared to pungo or fentress. not quite as sticky IMO
