Default Just got access to Fentress....

Well I just got access so I am going to sign up for the event on the 15th of feb. This will be my first autocross. Any suggestions? I read the novice handbook on the website. I'm a pretty good driver. I have experience driving in Italy from city driving(Naples aka Hell) to mountain driving(fun in Sardegna). Anyway I know I need a helmet. Any ideas and where can I get one for cheap? Thanks.

clean your car out, take out your floor mat, raise your tire pressures a bit, and be prepared for some serious fun. come out and talk to anyone, they're more than willing to help out. you dont need to go out and buy helmet, they have loaners that you can use. only suggestion from me for your first time...HAVE FUN

Sounds like STX. Only thing I don't know about is the chip, but I think its legal. I don't know my VDubs very well.

He's right, STX. The chip is actually legal in STS but the big brake diameter will bump you to STX.

Don't count on it. Driving in a autocross is like driving in a MAZE. It has very little in common with anything you do on the street. Happens very fast and takes a lot of getting used to. It takes 3 events for most people to kind of settle into the groove and become consistent. Be prepared for that otherwise you will really think you stink and never come back. Sucking at first is normal.
