I just got this response from Hankook Marketing (as I'm sure did the others who emailed them in the past):

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about the new Hankook Ventus
Z212 tire.

The Ventus Z212 is a Z-rated tire, UTQG: 200/AA/A that will be available
late in the third quarter of this year, so approximately mid-August. The
initial sizes that we're looking to have in stock are as follows:

195/ 50ZR 15
205/ 50ZR 15
205/ 45ZR 16
225/ 45ZR 16
245/ 45ZR 16
225/ 50ZR 16
205/ 55ZR 16
215/ 45ZR 17
205/ 50ZR 17
215/ 35ZR 18
225/ 40ZR 18

We haven't finalized the contingency package as of yet, but it should be on
par with our very generous road racing contingency packages.

I'll be sure to hang on to your email address and keep you posted on any
updates that we get.

I keep on seeing two different models discussed. At 200 UTQG, the Z212 will be playing catch-up...

Looks like my dream size of 225/45 16 will be available. Just hope they keep them close to Azenis prices.

Ed. The Z211 is the Miata cup spec tire a true R compound. The Z212 is the tire that Hankook is putting out to run head to head with the MX and Azenis. I have talked with the guy at Hankook and he says this tire will be the fastest of the three.

Just another tire coming soon. Falken will be giving us a new Azenis at the end of this year.

Next year will be fast for STS and STX
or should I say fast'ER


I am thinking of 205/50/15's on the front and 195/50/15 on the rear.

And Hankook tires are carrired at PEPBOYS!!!!!!!!!

The Neon guys used to run a staggered set-up 225/205 f/r to get the things to rotate.

Not a bad idea. What are Motonishi and Hollis running?

Ken and Jason are on 15x7.5 inch wide SSR's and Kumho's
Andy and Ann are also using the 15x7.5 (I believe) and on Falkens

Hollis's may have changed I havent seen the results from the TX tour 2 weeks ago.

Don't forget... the 220TW could be complete and utter arbitrary crap. IE, nothing more than a stamping die... The Azenis certainly doesn't behave like other tires with the same TW rating
