In the May 2004 issue of Sportscar magazine there is an excelent article about the steps to preparing to being a competitor/winner in Solo II competition. It basically gives you a pretty good cookbook list of what is important and what is not. It gives you some idea of what you might need to spend in car prep and driver prep to get to the level of someone who can win at local events and be in the hunt to win at the national level events. I think most of the people reading this forum will be somewhat surprised by some of it. And as usual the most important thing they talk about is going to every event you can possible manage to enter. Find some SCCA member and borrow their copy of the magazine, I think you will find it useful.
