Autocross School 4/3/2004
For all you newbies that want to give this a try, but are too chicken to look stupid on your first run Here is your chance. There is a School scheduled for Pungo on 4/3 by ODR. I have not seen "official info" yet, but I assume it is realtively similiar to before. The event is a Saturday from 9AM to 4:30 PM or until everyone gets tired or out of tires. I assure you that if you are a first timer or relative newbie you will be faster at the end of the day than you were when you started.

Calvin. i am very interested in this event however i see a few problems. 1 tires are expensive. i'm running azenias for racing and cheapo michelans for daily driving which suck for auto-x. 2. the condition of pungo is horrible for any type of tires. it tears them apart. 3. the cost of a school for 1 day is something like 3-400$. kinda steep.

It's a local school...so it will be WAY cheaper than an EVO school, I'm thinking around 20-30 bucks.
I may be instructing if possible schedule-wise.

The novice school is great for getting seat time and gives you an opportunity to learn the limits of the car in a non competition atmosphere. I think its $25 with lunch at Pungo Pizza. Its open to individuals that have been AutoXing for 2 or less years. Last fall it was only $15 because half the instructors didn't show due to hurricane problems.
