costs vary from group to group. You can spend as little as 150$ for one day to 500$ or more for 3 day events.
You get classroom instruction and incar instruction.
your car must pass a basic safety inspection (good tires, brakes, fresh brake fluid, safety gear, etc).
must have a proper helmet and long sleeve shirts and pants.
cars/drivers are grouped in experience classes from novice to experienced. Passing only under controlled conditions with the permission of the leading car. typically 20 cars ontrack at a time for 30 minutes a session.

great fun. An opportunity to experience your car at speed, learning how to drive fast and safely, practicing braking skills and learning just how your car works and performs at speed.

Available for most any car and driver. some restrictions on Mitsubishi drivers (must have a Ford logo on car...). Otherswise its run what you brung unless it scares the instructor...(I had a student with one of those once. NOT a safe car at all!)

Ditto on the actual speeds you reach. fast and comfortable unless your in-car instructor screams at you....

Faster than an autocross, not as dangerous as a race. safer than driving the interstates in any major city. Great fun over 2 days.

other questions?

two different tracks. One snakey, one more straight forward. both fun. NASCAR 3-4 is a blast. And coming back onto the NASCAR track in turn 1 will get you some g forces.

Agreed. Two different kinds of ridiculous fun... like unprotected sex with a hot redhead vs. a hot blonde.

Personally I'm much more terrified of Lowe's (concrete) so I took a lot fewer risks (i.e. drove slower there) than I do at VIR. I can also tell you from my Lowe's experience that NASCAR drivers have balls the size of grapefruits!
