Default ZC or Mini-me

Well after talking with some peps back home I've been talked out of the H22 swap for my 88' crx si, mostly for gas milage and theft reasons. They recommended a ZC swap or mini-me swap, personally I can't decide which one I want. The mini-me is a lot cheaper, but the ZC seems to be the more reliable option. Thanks in advance. Oh the car is mostly for beating around town and trips up to NYC.

well if you were thinking about an h22, why not just go down to a b series motor instead. mini-mes arent that reliable from what ive heard and im not a big fan of ZCs..

Yeah that was my argument but they convinced me that I would save a lot of money not only on the swap but also on gas and performance parts, money that I can put into my race car and get seat time. I drove a b18 in a 93 hatch and it was quick, in fact a little faster than I needed, just need something to get me to highway speeds quick and have decent gas milage. That's why they said ZC, and the Mini-me when I told them I had an SI. Thanks for the info.

i dont agree with all that non reliable mess on the nini-me swap.... my boy has a mini-me vtec turbo.... and that bitch is fast as hell and he has had no problems with reliabilty..its his daily driver.. thats how i'd go after seeing his car run

Thanks for the responses. So far it's still a toss up, keep posting I'll try some dedicated honda forums as well to see what they have to say. I'm leaning more towards the mini-me and an Apexi vtec controler, but I can still go either way. Thanks for the responses so far.

i would just go with ZC, its a simple as putting your stock motor back in. You also dont have to mess with the wiring. Its simple and fast
