zc help
okay i gotta get a engine in my baby soon cause its going to be dead soon(bad piston rings). i'm going to get a zc (dohc) motor 2nd gen. i'm putting it into a 93 civic dx. i heard that the tranny will bolt up and the ecu will plug up. i just need info if anything i'm gonna need. and also i'm getting a clutch and wondering what kind and what should i get to fit the motor actually. i just want to know what i need to know to complete this swap. i'm actually getting a mechanic at my job to put it in for me. i need info asap. i'm trying to get a engine put in this week.

as long as i have all of the parts, and i dont have any problems then i would say 2 days max!
if i get the car on a friday night then i could start on it early saturday morning. should have it done that evening
i just put a 98 lx motor in a 95 dx civic last sunday. i started working on it about 12 and had it done by 6 or so. stopping for eating dinner and goofing off and going to the hardware store for the neighbor

nope sorry. cams have to be for a zc. you may be able to use early teg parts(86-89)
as far as the certified tech goes.....
a certification just means that they passed a test. not neccesarily that they know what they are doing or can do a better job. i know as much if not more than MOST "certified" techs. ask around about the quality of my work. i treat each vehicle that i work on as if it were my own.
the choice is yours. which ever way you go, good luck
