Hi.
I have a 96 240sx. I just did an engine swap with the black top s14 Sr20det. The engine starts and idles. When I barely hit the gas slowly the car revs to about 3,000 RPMs then starts to bog. If i hit the gas slightly harder it cuts off. I changed the maf sensor. I checked the TPS for voltage. The only thing that it seems to be is the Vacuum lines from the intake. Professional help is needed please. PM me as soon as possible. I really need to get my car back on the road. Thanks.

Professional help isn't needed man. Did you extend your MAF wiring? Did you use shielded wire in the process? Does it rev higher than 2.5 - 3k? Did you check and adjust timing? It's probably something really simple.

it doesnt rev higher than 3k and i didnt extend the wiring. i know its something simple im just at a serious loss for ideas and help....

what type of maf? z32 maf or 89 s13 maf , put ecu in diagonistic mode read codes

Well since you have an S14 SR I'm not sure if they use the same MAF's as the more common S13 SR's. I'd do more research on the MAF and check to make sure you have the correct one. A 3k rpm rev limit is almost 99% an MAF related issue. You can check to see if your MAF is bad by pulling it out and looking at the wire inside the small hole. Make sure it's connected and doesn't have a break. Also, check for codes (cheap and easy).

why is it that when i turn the car on the IAC is making my fuel injectors turn on when the engine isnt running... ?

Huh? Your IACV doesnt make your injectors turn on. All of that stuff is controlled by your ECU. When you turn your car on the fuel pump should be on. You might better off taking the car to a shop or something.

yep...if i unplug the IAC the fuel stops going into the engine. if i plug it back in it starts again dumping fuel into the engine. and i cant really take it to a shop because i cant drive it and i dont have anyway of towing the car to a shop without paying a tow company
