Default Who wants to have fun w/ a B16a...???

Yeah, most of you who know me, know the problem I am having. At times, when I hit vtec, my car will sputter and I'll lose power immediately. When I shift out of vtec, I can feel a drag in acceleration. Every so often, I even throw a code on that. I changed all the obvious things, fuel filter, plugs, etc. and I lowered my fuel pressure to 38. I'm not sure if it's the solenoid itself, or it's a fuel problem. However, if I restart my car, it seems to clear the problem for a little while, but I can't restart it while I'm on the highway or trying to accelrate. But like I said, this only happens sometimes, not all the time, and I can definetly hear a difference in the sound of my engine.

Any ideas....???

P.S. The fuel pump isn't humming either. Have fun.

i would check the harness for bad pins check the solonide and after that? maybe get the ecu refurbished? that helps alot.

Did you check the code you're throwing? And if so, what did you do to remedy it?

yeh i have to agree on the whole ecu thing... sounds like the culprit to me... id go for another ecu for the b16a, maybe go with a good aftermarket program for it.. not a cheapy imitation like they sell on ebay.... best suggestion is to spend the money to put it on the dyno, and work out your problems from the printouts... try different things, see what improves it..

I haven't checked the code out, but I know it needs tuning. My hondata should hold all of that and I'll check it there. I was just wondering if there were any other ideas people had before I take it into Brady and sign over my first born child.

I found my code and it's the O2 sensor. Anyone know how to replace that if you have headers?

I didn't know they made headers for a b16?

This may sound crazy but it's worth a try...

My friends car was doing the same thing with a b16a after we swapped it, and turned out to be the ECU grounds... Try checking that.

Thanks
