Bad user name for someone asking these questions. Nobody will know without looking at it. Could be a sensor causing a check engine light and putting the ECU in limp mode. Could be that you don't have enough oil in it to allow vtec to engage. Could be many things, take it to a shop and have it diagnosed.

Hold it at 9k for a minute or two on the highway. Should get the VTEC oil flowing.
