Weird noise when car is sitting... 2000 LS teggy
Ok it's a pretty weird noise my car makes when it's just sitting and the car is off.. it almost sounds like its moving very slowly, as if the e-brake is creeping but its not. I've had it on level ground and it still does it about every 45 secs to a minute. After much thought about it and listening to it i think it might have something to do with why my check engine light is on.. im throwing a P153 code if im not mistaken (havent checked it in a while) and it has something to do with the emissions or evap sensor or something, man i cant remember but i read up on the code and it suggested a vacuum leak.. then again i could be completely wrong but anywho, the noise is like a high pitched whining noise almost like a door creaking open. Its coming from under the car in the rear. Anyone know anything about that?

Srsly, I have no clue. Check you CEL again and see if its throwing anymore codes. How long has it been doing it?

Well i just so happened to notice it when i put my SK2 coilovers on.. and thought maybe it was the stock struts creeking or w.e. but that wasn't it. I think i have a vacuum leak or something somewhere.. but i wasnt aware there were vacuum lines or anything under the rear of the car.. (of course i could be wrong).

could be the pressure in the fuel tank slowly escaping. try opening the gas cap to see if it still does it. my old 85 corolla did that

That's what i was thinking, but when I unscrew the gas cap I still hear the pressure release... it could still be leaking but very little. I'll try to leave the gas cap off for a few minutes and see if it does it then i'll know.

No it's def not that. Thanks though. Well I just went outside and took off the gas cap and barely any pressure came out... and The noise isn't happening anymore... prob becuz the car has been sitting all night and all/most of the pressure probably escaped. So I'm pretty sure at this point that's it. my gas mileage is pretty weak for a Honda/Acura, could this be the reason?
