My dream for this car is to turn it into an autocross car, I dont know much at all about what i need to do to make it "autocross" but I would love some help.

My car is an 97 civic coupe, it has a newly built b20 vtec motor.
THe motor is pretty much all stock and I just want to know what I should do, as in build it to an all motor car? turboed? or supercharger and I need some advice on that.
Also my exhaust is an skunk 2 megapower RR

If your dream is to make it an autocross car, wouldn't it help to know a little about what it WOULD take before making it your dream?

AutoX isn't about straight line running, but more about turns and running a set course, in the lowest time. I would build up suspension components, anything that will help the handling, and then brakes, and then engine. You just need some pep to it, not necessarily top end. What you will loose in the straights, you can make up for in the turns.

Read the autocross rules, and find out what class you will be most comfortable in based on your skill level and budget. That will dictate what modifications you can do. Or, modify however you want and don't worry about what class you will be in, but be prepared for people with a lot more money/knowledge/experience to mop the floor with you. Not a problem if you just want to have fun and don't care about winning.

Get to know your car on a course, find your weak points, upgrade from there.

drive in some events, learn the car and modify from there. itll make you a much better driver in the long run.

The engine swap is already going to put you in a class that you won't be competitive in so just get out there and start doing events. You can figure the rest out once you get the swing of things.
