Default Walbro Fuel Pump Question

I just installed a 255lph in my 240 and had a few questions.
1. Am I supposed to hear the pump, while cruising (a high pitch hum)?
2. Is it supposed to give worse or better MPG? I'm getting worse so far.
I think thats it. Thanks in advance.

yea, you will hear the pump, there loud as a piece cause there pumping so much fuel and yes, you will prolly get worse fuel mileage compared to a stock pump because it pumps at a way higher fuel pressure, and delivers more fuel, even though your computer should regulate the flow and only deliver whats needed sometimes it just doesnt see to work that way, if you have a fuel controller then take some fuel out, if you have a regulator lower the fuel pressure as well.........
