vtec not engaging????

Default vtec not engaging????

i own a 92 hatchy w/h22.just had a quaife lsd installed and trans rebuilt.shortly after leaving the shop where the work was done i got a check engine light.vtec dosen't engage does anyone know why?what is the coralation between the check engine light and vtec not engaging?any responses are much appreciated.thanks in advance

Check your oil, it could be really really low.

Yes, there is a correlation between the CEL and vtec not engaging. It depends on what fault code it is, but many/most will keep vtec from engaging. Now go find out what that CEL is before thinking about this any more.

i would suspect this, my friend had the sam issue in his type r. he was very low on oil. oil added, problem fixed.

just to give you guys an update when the shop reinstalled my trans they forgot to plug in the speedsensor.plugged back in........VVVTTTTEEEECCCCCC.thanks for all your help guys
