Default valve stems on drag wheels

Do drag wheels mounted with slicks need to have metal valve stems? If so why? I'm curious because someone told me I needed them this past sunday when I was at MIR. He said there is a rule about it, but I couldn't find any rule about it.

I order a set of slick's, and tubes. The tubes came with a metal valve stem. So im guessing yes they need to be metal.

because rubber valve seals seal up with air pressure???

and I'm guessing metal valve stem seals are like held in with a nut on the other side///

I didn't go below 15psi of tire pressure so I guess if I had went down to 7-8psi I would have noticed. Thanks for the info.

Rubber valve stems do not seal up with air pressure. How many valve stems have you replaced, or are you taking a guess at that?
