valve adjustment
well i just put my head back on after getting some work done on it and did a valve adjustment. the ticking seemed kind of loud so i tryed again. it seems better but i can still hear some. i listined to my friends car to compare and mine seemed louder. i know some of the sound is the fuel injectors.
does anyone that has experence doing valve adjustments want to come over and take a look at it? i have been driving it around some but im scared to go past 4k rpm. send me a pm or call my cell (754-3487) if you wanna help my out. thanks

Re: valve adjustment
you need that special spacer, thats bent at a 90 degree angle for VTEC jobs, or take on of your nice spacers and bend the shit out of it. Thats why I like non-vtec...don't have that problem!

Re: valve adjustment
well i just followed the helms manual. the only thing im worried about is how tight is a slight drag is on the feeler.....and how tight to put the locknuts...

Re: valve adjustment
once you set the lock nuts, the screws don't move anymore. the feeler gauge should just barely grab on the way out. It should slide with just a little resistance. And you need to hold a screw driver on the screws while you torque them down, forgot all about that. And 14lbs/ft is nothing, like almost hand tighting. I tested mine a couple of times on other bolts to get the feel of it, and then did it by hand, but you have to use the screw driver to keep them in place. then double check with a feeler gauge afterwards.
