I drive my Hyundai around w/ open downpipe. Yes it is loud, no it is not obnoxious.

I have not gotten any tickets with it either, maybe becuase it is not a Honda and is not primered.. I dont know.? Or maybe my day just has not come yet.

 

run an exhaust. i ran open dp for a very long time with no tickets(only because i drove it like once every 2 weeks) its sounds awesome hearing the turbo spooling and all. but after a while it gets really irritating feeling your ear wax rattle. oh and the floor of the cabin rattles it's ass off.. from my 3in dp.

 

haha i feel da same in my ls turbo teg....it sounds nice as hell hearing the turbo spool up,but there are times when you just want it quiet,dats why i just got a e-cut...!......!

 

Definately run a full 3in' exhaust and it will sound fine. I have a open downpipe on my turbo dseries and it is quite loud, especialy when it gets into boost and the wastegate opens up. Honestly i am a little embarased to drive it around with open downpipe due to how obnoxious it sounds.

But as stated before, an E-cutout would be a good idea.

 

I'm runnin open down pipe on my da, its broken.... not doing it by choice. I would just run 3in like everyone is telling you. Although you may sound like a big rig spoolin down the street, and thats pretty fuckin cool, tickets just arent worth it.... TRUST.

 

i run straight 3" off the turbo, no cat or muffler. sounds great going through small towns. my motor is ca18det

 

dont run a open dump tube, those get annoying after awhile.

I run mine with an e-cutout and its fantastic. Quiet when it needs to be and loud when i want some power. Although honestly i can ride with open downpipe all day long if I had to. I deal with plenty of cars that have it and i've gotten used to it. Most of them dont have hardly any problems with the cops as long as they hang a stock muffler or something on the back

 

E-CUT FTW....in my area cops are ass.....haha but when i feel like hearing the spoolin sound...flip da switch and its all good....when u see a cop, close the e-cut and he wont even know..haha I love DMH e-cut..oh yeah 250 more miles matt and were all set...!
