I am purchasing a Greddy sohc turbo kit w/ intercooler. I was wondering since it uses a mistu TD40H-15G. This turbo has an internal wastegate. What turbo would i be able to upgrade the TD40H-15G to a lager turbo w/ internal wastegate so i dont have to purchase another manifold for external wastegate. This is going on a 1.6 sohc motor , so the turbo doesnt have to be large. Im looking for something that is capable of making 15+ lbs efficently (sp?). Not that im going to boost that high off the bat , but i am going to be upgrading the internals as well.

 

Dont go with GREDDY Turbo, go with the APEXi Turbo kit! Its ball-bearing which is much better and the kit comes with a fat ass intercooler GT-Spec
But to upgrage turbo, i guess a 18G would fit

 

i dont know if any other turbo's would fit that manifold...the miata kit comes with the 15G as well and it seems that no one that owns the miata kit has ever considered upgrading with that manifold

 

I don't know much about the manifold but if it houses a tdo4 you can upgrade to any mitsubishi turbo as long as it clears.

what kinda car/engine is this going on? That manifold looks familiar. If its the same one I'm thinking it is, you can fit a 14b on with a LITTLE modification. a 16g should also fit

 

call greddy they told me you can run an external wastgate on there kits to run more boost
