turbo question

Default turbo question
i got a turbo for free today and im going to rebuild it but i ran into a problem. when i went to look at the model number it is not there someone scrapped it off, is there anyway that i can find the model number somewhere else ? it is supposibly off a VW but i dont know.

Sounds like your pretty much screwed. Post pictures, maybe one of us will know what it is.

You need to send it out for a rebuild. You can't rebuild it yourself because it needs to be balanced. Send it to a good company and they'll know what to do with it.

Well, it's a Garrett, and it's internally gated (obviously). I can't tell you what it came off of, but what exactly are you trying to figure out about it?
