Default Turbo Making Manifold Glow Red!

Hey I got a turbo on my gsr and I just got a basemap chip done to my ecu for my turbo. Before everytime boost kicked in it went to safe mode or limp mode now that I got a basemap tune for some reason it now will go into boost but won't really let me get on it backfires and after driving it for 10 mins I poped the hood and the turbo manifold was glowing bright red it was super hot what would caus that and why?

DO NOT BOOST ON A BASE MAP!! Don't get into boost until u get it tuned.

A base map is not ment to be driven in boost. Its just for start up and moving purposes.

sounds like your basemap sucks. Quit messing with a ticking time bomb and get a tune or go back N/a.

Seriously you need a tune, how many pounds are you pushing. Are your injectors not giving enough fuel, spark, air? How was the car running before boost? I mean could you get on it or did it do this also?

Manifold glowing like that usually means that you're running lean, or your timing is way off and a lot of the combustion is taking place in the exhaust port instead of inside the cylinder, which might explain the backfiring too. That's how an anti-lag system works, and it's very hard on the head and the manifold. I'm guessing you either get a tune or get a new engine, whichever happens faster. Your choice.

I think we all agree you need a tune.
