Default Turbo kit

Whats up guys, i'm running a ls/vtec in a del sol. I used to have it turbod on previous motors that all have blown up running a greddy kit. I got pissed off and sold that kit. its been 2 years since i've had boost now and i'm missing it bad. I'm lookin at a small garrett t25 kit that comes with a FMU. How reliable do you think that would be running 7 psi? I cant afford to blow another motor so i want it to last a year or 2 till i'm done with school.

Kit includes:

Garrett T25 turbocharger
cast iron manifold with mirror polished heat shield
silicone inlet pipe
New air filter(not pictured but included)
downpipe with gasket and heat wrap
braided oil feed line
silicone oil return hose with oil pan fitting
FMU
MAP management unit
braided water lines and fittings
New intercooler piping
New intercooler
New t-clamps
New silicone couplers
New hks style bov
instructional cd rom

what do you guys think?

If you want the car to be reliable then leave it alone. If you want it to last longer than the other turbo-ed cars that you have had in the past spend the money and get a fuel management not an FMU. FMU's work, but they are not the greatest unit out there.

Also get some bigger injectors and fuel pump.

Good luck

why build your own kit ? why not purchase that kit and purchase real engine management, get it dyno tuned and throw the FMU and missing link in the garbage , then your engine will be as reliable as any stock internal boosted honda is

As mentioned, if you want this motor to last longer, stay away from an FMU. Get something electronic like Hondata, CROME, AEM-EMS, Neptune, etc.... and use bigger injectors. Dont settle your mind with just a T25. You should look into the GT series or even T3T4 turbos. Piecing your kit is not a bad idea but you really have to do your research.....

Im shocked that it took you more than 1 motor to realize somethings not right. As stated above, get fuel management. If there was a problem with the greddy kit you were using, I doubt it would cause you to keep blowing motors. The only reason you blew up motors was your lack of tune. fmu's suck. You can run just about any turbo setup that you want to up to around a t3t4, you just gotta have a good tune.
