Putting a turbo on a toyota carburated 22R. Is it possible? help me out plz!!!

I was looking at it at one time. Maybe Shinobi will see this thread, he had my old Celica for a while.

its possible but why??? the 22r wasnt made for turbo. well i guess if hondas werent made for turbo but guys do it. now a turbo kit for it, i have no idea where to get one or how to build a custom one. good luck and tell us how it goes

i think you have to have the 22re which is the fuel injected one...and they make the kits at www.lcengineering.com
look at some of the pics at this site...can we say BEAST?!?

I believe it was 88 or 87 but you could get them in the 4runner turboed from the factory on the 22re motor.

Cool thanks fellas but I think your right. The carburated thing might post a problem.

turbo 22r carbed is a little ricky, but can be done low boost 4-5psi.
22re-t came in 87-88 trucks, turbo OE. contact me and we can do it.

The stock truck turbo 22re might not fit in your car, it wont fit in 3rd gen. Celica.
