I dont exactly know what they do but someone suggested to take them off for a better sound along with my 40 series flowmasters. ITs on a 4.6L V8 btw...Is this a good idea or should i go with some high flow cats?

 

all a high flow cat is 99% of the time is just a fucking resonator that looks sort of like a cat....yeah just take the resonators out. this is a ford i presume?

Yeah just do straight 2.25" piping back to the flows and you'll be good to go

Yeah, take 'em off. It'll sound a lil' better. It won't help you make power, but you got Flowmasters so power or taste obviously isn't a top priority.

 

yeah i heard you...im just gathering opinions...I think im gonna take the cats off, but cut them open, gut them, then weld a straight pipe inside the cats so when i get smogged and they look for cats, it will look like i still have them on...I know the smog check guys so they will pass me no prob.

 

you don't need to cut them, just ram a pipe in there, smash everything up and shake it all out.

id leave them on unless you like that "after-popping" sound.
